Rare Moment of Silence
Wednesday, September 26th, 2007Oddly enough it seems to have happened this week of all weeks.
We’re in the middle of our Innovate conference and somehow I ended up home by 7:30. I don’t get it, but I’m not gonna complain.
Today was the Church IT Round Table, and we had a great turn out! 21 people were there today around the table and I made some really cool new friends. It’s great to see other people out there who are doing what we’re doing, or at least something similar who we can help, and who can help us. We talked about everything today from how to get a T1 setup for your church and why you would pick that over DSL or Cable (which can be faster) to wireless deployment in your church and monitoring said wireless, to how to get other departments in your church to think about IT costs BEFORE they start on a project.
Since I’m desktop support, I don’t deal with a lot of that stuff, but Jason does, and it’s great to see the kinds of things that he has to think about every day. I realize more and more what a great environment I work in.
Oh hey, I’m gonna be a dad. I haven’t blogged about it yet, but ya. We’re 10 weeks pregnant. Pretty cool huh? It’s our first time makin one of these “baby” things… pretty cool.
